This week, we completed the base platform for a brand-new bamboo structure, and as you can see, it’s no small task. The concrete slab sits firmly on a retaining wall made from locally sourced river stones.

In our greenhouse at Hacienda Guadua Bamboo we installed 5 bamboo nursery tables. We use these tables to grow bamboo cuttings and seedlings in a specially developed biodegradable rooting foam.
At the beginning of March 2021 we started with the building of our bamboo nursery at Hacienda Guadua Bamboo. It took us about a month to complete the greenhouse that measures 10 x 48 m.
Today, groundworks have begun at Hacienda Guadua Bamboo. We are going to build a new bamboo preservation tank, a greenhouse, and road access for trucks.
It has been long journey to find the perfect property, but today it’s official, we bought a farm in Colombia and it’s called Hacienda Guadua Bamboo!
Every year at Guadua Bamboo, we take on a new challenge and push the limits of what can be built using Guadua angustifolia. This year is no different… except for the scale. We’ve officially started work on our largest bamboo structure to date!
