Common Name: Painted Bamboo | Golden Common Bamboo

Average Height: 15 m

Average Diameter: 5-10 cm

Rhizomes: Clumping bamboo

Culms: Culms are woody and thin-walled, with a typical golden-yellow color and dark green stripes. Without nodal roots.

Branches complement: Three or more branches with one branch dominant.

Leaves: 8-9 leaves per branch. 15-30 cm long and 18-45 mm wide.

Climate: Tropical and subtropical.

Origin: Uncertain but probably East -, South-East -, South Asia and Madagascar

Uses:

• Landscaping / Ornamental
• Erosion control
• Basket making
• Water from boiled shoot is also used as a medicine.
