Bamboo is an ideal material for bicycle frames. It's got a higher tensile strength than steel, it's lightweight, flexible, inexpensive, sustainable/renewable, and great at absorbing road vibrations. And it looks great. Bam Bicycles utilizes these attributes to create bikes that ride as beautifully as they look.

Many people ask how the bamboo is joined. We use a technique that combines fiberglass, carbon fiber, hemp fiber, and epoxy resin (the same kind used on boats) to form a lug (or joint) that's as solid as a weld.

We offer four bicycle models:

• Mountain bike
• Cyclocross
• Cyclocross/Mountain Hybrid (we’re calling it a mountain cross)
• Commuter (internally geared, externally geared, single speed, and fixed gear)

We design and build bicycles that are functional art. Beautiful in appearance, and engineered to perform superbly. All done right here in San Francisco CA, by us, by hand.
